DURHAM, NC

THE IMPACT FUND

Through its sister non-profit organization, Forward Communities, the goal is to raise philanthropic dollars to foster a network of strategically aligned non-profit service providers  for each community development.  For example, an affordable housing development may offer wrap-around resident services including access to healthcare services, workforce/ placement opportunities, and financial capability services that create pathways to long-term homeownership.

  • Aggregating and deploying capital focused on projects that can have catalytic economic and community impact with a particular focus on Opportunity Zones

  • Advancing real estate investment projects that create opportunities for local wealth building including:

    • Commercial developments with co-ownership potential

    • Affordable/ workforce housing developments

    • Mixed use “block investments” that can have a transformative impact on the local community

  • Helping entrepreneurs identify and acquire businesses doing $2m+ in revenue seeking exit and generating opportunities for a transfer of wealth/ ownership - ideally in the construction sector or aligned verticals

  • Creating investment models/ partnership opportunities that can be replicated in other regions
